To do so go to the Start Search and type in CMD and press enter.Ī command prompt window will open. So if you used HyperTerminal just to SSH into a server you can use the WinRS command to do so. WinRS is a command line that can replace SSH. One great free alternative to HyperTerminal is the Windows Remote Shell or WinRS command. But if you don't want to use that old relic, here are some free HyperTerminal alternatives for Windows 7. The hub broadcasts any packets it receives on all ports so you will be able to see the traffic on your computer.A while ago we have shown you where you canĭownload HyperTerminal for Windows 7. Otherwise you can put in a small hub and plug the scale your computer into the hub. Assuming this is a switched enviornment then right now, the switch is sending the traffic only over the ports of the scale and the next stop for the information.ĭepending you have the switch you may be able to setup a monitor port, in which case the switch will also send all traffic going from the scale to an additional port on the switch that you can plug into and use wireshark to analyze. If that is not the case you can run it from another computer. If the scale is sending the information to a computer then you can install wireshark or some other packet analyzing tool on it and run it on there and you will be able to see the packets that are coming from the scale. To do that you need something more like wireshark. You won't see the traffic though that the scale is sending out. Using telnet to connect to a server is sometimes a good tool for testing server side stuff like smtp. I don't think this will provide what you are looking for.
